On this makeover episode of the Marilyn Denis Show, we met a couple of Hunstville, ON who were nominated by one of their 3 daughters, Jessica, for a Holiday Makeover.
This was a devoted, loving, hardworking couple who both owned their own businesses and had put their children before themselves. Tim is a carpenter who feels he's 'putting something into the world' after each build while Susan fulfilled a childhood dream of 'teaching children about nature' with her child care centre. Jessica had nominated her parents because she felt they both deserved it. When Susan and Tim were asked how they felt about getting their Holiday Makeovers, they were very moved. Their style was described as 'non existent' and would throw on whatever was available.

Hucy's plans for Susan were to "spice it up" with her cut and colour. Susan kept her hair in a ponytail and hadn't worn a dress in 10 years, loved wearing greens and earthy neutral tones. Cynthia Florek, Style and Trend director for Sears, had decided that jewel tones were in store to complete her makeover. For Tim, the plan was to keep his beard of 10 years, but modernize it with a little colour and trim. Hucy decided to also colour his hair and bring his youthful spirit to the surface bringing him "out of the bush in into GQ". For his wardrobe makover, Cynthia wanted to get him out of his plaid and flannel and into a well fitting suit.

Just before the reveal, Hucy and Cynthia spoke about their reunion as they were high school friends that had lost touch over the year, that by a twist of fate, were brought back together to work with each other as Marilyn Denis Experts were they both agreed that this was "one of the best makeovers to date".

First up for the reveal was Tim. Whose hair and beard of 10 years was ready for change and wardrobe consisted of ripped jeans and lots of flannel and old shirts from his daughters. With his anxious daughters sitting in the audience, Tim opened the door Tim looked so handsome and his daughters were close to tears!

The most obvious transformation was not only his beautiful suit, but with Tim's beard and hair. After Hucy's consulation, Donato colourist Yasi, warmed up Tim's skin tone and brightened his eyes by colouring his beard and hair. Even Tim said "it's OK to colour your hair". Hucy suggests that for men, as long as you keep colour natural, go ahead and make that change! His cut was done by Donato stylist Adam who gave Tim the modern GQ look Hucy was going for.
The most anticipated of the two reveals, was Susan's. Also, wearing hand me downs from her daughters, Susan's before picture showed a women with hair in a ponytail wearing neutral earth tones. Tim hadn't seen his wife in two days and was anxious and nervous to see Susan, but had to wait just a little longer while she got some finishing touches from the Donato style team.

Recently having their 20th wedding anniversary, it was finally tim for Tim to see his wife and he and their daughters couldn't have been more excited.

The look on Tim's face spoke for itself! Susan didn't look like the same person! As they hugged each other you could hear Tim say "you look beautiful'. A shot of their daughters who were in tears and the standing ovation from the audience was signs that this was a successful makeover!

Susan's hair makeover began with Donato colourist Jermaine who took her hair to a copper tone with blonde highlights. Her face was lit up by this incredible colour combination. Her cut by Donato stylist Loucas, was a graduated bob that opened up her face. Just gorgeous!

As one of Susan and Tim's daugters said "I've never seen them look so good….even on their wedding day!". The Donato style team of Hucy, Loucas, Adam, Yasi, Jermaine and assistant Anthony did an incredible job!
